Moredun Multis

Improvement works and benefits

We want to make improvements to the six multi-storey blocks at Moredun to make them safer, warmer and more comfortable places to live.

  • Castleview House
  • Forteviot House
  • Little France House
  • Marytree House
  • Moncrieffe House.
  • Moredun House

The blocks were built in the 1960s and due to their age and condition they now need significant investment and repairs to bring them up to modern standards.

We plan to bring them up to a standard known as Energy Efficiency Standard for Social Housing (EESSH2). This is the minimum standard for social housing and will make them safer and more comfortable places to live. We're currently working on the plans and designs, but some of the improvements could include:

  • upgrading insulation
  • replacing window and doors
  • improving fire safety
  • improving lighting
  • creating better communal areas
  • creating better facilities for residents, including lifts and stairwells
  • improving heating, drainage and pipe work
  • redeveloping parking and the external spaces around the buildings.

These improvements would make homes warmer and more energy efficient. It would also significantly reduce damp and mould.
